Conveyors
Belt Conveyors
Powered belt conveyors are probably the most popular type of conveyor in use today. The belt conveyor supporting structure can be manufactured from Mild steel, Aluminium or Stainless steel or a mixture of all three. The belts can also be supplied in Rubber, Nylon and now Stainless steel mesh (Ideal for bakeries and the food industry)
Belt Conveyor benefits;
- Perfect for industrial applications
- Low maintenance
- Extremely reliable
- Great value for money

As with all our conveyors the belt conveyors can be designed to include x-ray machines and various stops and movement devices with limitless possabilities.

Conveyor Systems
A conveyor system simply takes a product from point A to point B. As conveyors have evolved along with automation and I.T. the systems that can now be implemented during the products trip are almost limitless. Products can vary from tablets and capsules, chocolate bars and frozen sausages up to vehicles in a robotic manufacturing system. With all conveyor systems it is imperative that the design and implementation works for your specific requirements and, at the end of the day it works more efficeintly and has better value than your existing method.
- Most efficient use of space
- Less reliant on manual labour
- Maximises production output
- Reliable and cost effective

Gravity Feed Conveyors
We offer a wide range of gravity conveyors, ranging from a simple light duty models, up to very heavy duty models.
The main purpose of any conveyor is to move items from a start point to a finish point and gravity conveyors with a slight incline will do so automatically. Some gravity conveyor is used as plain roller track where an operator moves the items manually and this is useful where more control is required and where the item is to heavy for conventional handling. The gravity track can also be used with roller track and powered track and very complex handling solutions can be designed to cover all eventualities.
The advantages of the gravity feed conveyor or plain roller track:
- Low initial costs
- Easily moved around
- Cheap to operate
- Low maintenance
- Can be easily adapted with gates and stops

The gravity conveyors can be manufactured from mild steel, aluminium and stainless steel.
With a choice of both plastic & steel rollers, and skate wheels for light duty systems, and a wide range of accessories Merlin can implement any conveyor system to meet exacting customer requirements.
As well as the roller track systems mentioned above we offer specialist conveyor such as telescopic sections for the loading and unloading of vehicles.

Our unique telescopic vehicle loading conveyors have the following standard features:
Unique designed chassis
Front LED lighting
Electrically interlocked pop out roller at the front end
Soft start of motors and belt
Roller shrouds to avoid nipping points
Front anti-collision buffer strip
We offer a range of sizes to cover all applications. Our TL3-6-12-600 model will extend to 12 metres, our TL3-7.5-15-600 extends to 15 metres to handle the largest trailers.
Standard belt widths are 600 and 800mm.
All our conveyors have a capacity of 50kg per metre plus 100kg end load.
Operator controls are push-button and control the direction of travel of the belt and extend/retract the conveyor. Emergency stops are provided in three positions.
Fixed Belt Boom Conveyor
Fixed boom conveyors are so called because they are installed in one position, ideal for loading docks.
General Specification:
Controls And Operation
Push Button Controls Of:
Belt: forward/reverse, stop/start
Conveyor: extend/retract
Safety:
Emergency Stops: three, two on main casing, 1 on front of boom
Emergency Retract: touch sensitive bar on boom leading edge
Pop-Out Roller: stops conveyor in event of trapping
Safety Light: Front boom end light
Gravity Fixed Roller Telescopic

Boom Conveyors fitted with rollers are ideal for loading vehicles. Using gravity they are fast and efficient and lower cost than powered alternatives.
Roller Conveyors
Roller conveyors are widely used because they are simple, fast and cost effective. The Roller Boom Conveyor combines the advantages of free running rollers with proven extending boom conveyor designs to produce a highly efficient vehicle loading device.
Gravity Powered
Inclined from your loading dock or warehouse into the vehicle being loaded, a Roller Boom Conveyor will use gravity to transport your goods. As the vehicle fills the operator can retract the boom using its powered extend/retract system to maintain a comfortable loading position.
Gravity Fixed Roller Telescopic
Roller loaders are available with the following options:
- Tranversing chassis
- Full underguarding
- Powered chassis
- Gallows lighting
Mobile Vehicle Loaders

Mobile vehicle loaders are highly versatile and require no loading bay. They require little space and can be positioned to meet the day-to-day needs of the business. Designed specifically for premises without a raised loading dock.
The range is broad and caters for all vehicle types and sizes. It includes compact models for vans and telescopic loaders for lorries and large trailers, which extend up to twelve metres.
There are two basic models:
MVL – The MVL is fully counterbalanced and requires no support from within the vehicle. Belt direction is reversible to suit loading/unloading.
VL – The VL is cost effective and features an extendable conveyor that rests on the trailer bed. Belt direction is reversible to suit goods-in or goods-out operations.

Power is provided by single or 3 phase electric motors, available for most AC voltages, with fixed speed roller chain drive or variable speed gears.
Starters, reversing starters, remote controls, electromagnetic brakes and emergency stops are all available to suit the customers particular needs.
All exposed drives and drums are protected bv metal guards to comply with the latest safety regulations. Adjustable or fixed side guides are also available in steel or stainless steel.
All Powered Belt systems can be arranged horizontally or inclined, and integrated into other types of conveyancing to form a complete handling system.

Powered Roller Conveyors

Lineshaft driven rollers are based on a unique polyurethane belt and roller principle, giving an inherent accumulation characteristic. The modular design enables complex systems to be achieved both quickly and cost effectively
Chain driven roller conveyors are capable of conveying loads up to 1500 kg, and offer an efficient solution to any pallet handling scenario.
Zero Line Pressure conveyor systems are also available for those applications where delicate handling and/or accurate positioning of items are required.
